snow day

It's not often we get snowy weather in Texas. Generally, if we get any kind of icy precipitation at all, it'll usually be sleet. Today was a little different, though. Today it started snowing not long after midnight and it didn't slow down for most of the day. Snow is heaped up in our yards like great white heaps of cotton candy. Pretty as a picture it is, too. Like a lot of things, snow is like relatives coming to visit. Glad to see them come and glad to see them go. The weather prognosticators have opined that tomorrow our temperatures will top out around forty. Unfortunately, they are also promising us that the sun will be shy tomorrow and hide its warming face behind the clouds. That's too bad. If the overcoat were to come out, it'd put to flight the thick white pillowy sheets laid down today.  Winter has been an adventure this year. I wish for spring.

  1. It don't FEEL like cotton candy! I'm not in a big rush for spring because 100+ follows right on its heels.

  2. Ah yes, there's the rub. We will enjoy a couple months of very beautiful weather though.
